NABC
North American Bengali Conference (NABC) is an annual meeting point of more than 10,000 attendees from all over North America – a perfect gathering for connecting experiences and exploring opportunities. This three-day get-together celebrates the richness and diversity of the culture and tradition of Bengal, catering to our aesthetic, intellectual and business pursuits.

We, Sanskriti of Greater Washington, D.C. and our co-sponsors -- Prantik from Baltimore and the Northern Virginia Bengali Association of Virginia – are proud to host the 31st NABC in the Baltimore Convention Center (BCC), Maryland from July 1 through July 3, 2011. We have chosen BCC as the conference venue not only because of its elaborate layout, locational convenience and proximity to tourist attractions. It is also because BCC reminds us of our glories of NABC 2004 that we had organized very successfully in the same location.

We cordially invite you to attend the NABC 2011 and experience some sublime glimpses of
picturesque Bengal – , which is the theme of our Conference. It is through this lens that we will showcase diverse aspects of the lifestyle, art, culture, music, cuisine, business and other social, cultural and intellectual pursuits of the universal Bengali mind. It will be a time for us to come together for reunion and rejuvenation. It will be a place for our next generation to enjoy, cultivate and cherish the rich legacy of the culture and heritage of Bengal. With this purpose in mind we are working hard to make NABC 2011 a pleasant and memorable experience for you.

The celebration will be dotted with nostalgic cultural programs with artists from India, Bangladesh and North America, masterpiece Bengali cinema and exotic Bengali cuisine. Seminars presented by the luminaries of Bengal, Bangladesh and North America in the fields of art, literature, science, business and various social issues will be the additional attraction. Exhibitions will also be arranged to highlight Bengali culture. Vendors will be available with the art and handicrafts from Bengal. We are also planning a Book Fair. NABC 2011 will become all the more attractive because together with the usual cultural, social, business, youth and other programs, we are making extensive preparations to celebrate Rabindranath Tagore’s 150th birth anniversary in a very special way.

In such a huge congregation you are sure to get the perfect scope for professional networking, business interactions and relationship building in a very ideal and cordial environment. Last but not the least, you will have ample opportunities for – our favorite – long, relaxed sessions of plain and simple Adda.

So, please do attend NABC 2011 and immerse yourself in the rich heritage of Bengali culture during 1-3 July, 2011 at the Baltimore Convention Center, Maryland.
