NABC's showcase Hotel: Hilton Baltimore - only glass-covered walkway to the Baltimore Convention Center.                               For more...                 DEBANGANA SARKAR A powerful addition to the Rabindrasangeet scene of Kolkata, Debangana Sarker received years of extensive training from the famousTagore institution "Dakshinee" of Kolkata, where her teachers were stalwarts of Tagore music Rono Guhathakurta and Sudeb Guhathakurta. A lead performer in all the major festivals of Dakshinee such as Rabindra Janmotsab,  Barshamongol, Basantotasab, and Baise-Srabon, she has performed in a variety of T.V and stage shows. This year will mark her appearance and performance in three NABC's.  She has two CD's of her own: "Jokhon Brishti Naamlo" and the very recent "Oi Robir Alo" and had an encore performance in last year's NABC in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Her voice is at once strong and melodious, and her gayaki or style reminiscent of Tagore music maestros such as the late Suchitra Mitra and Kanika Bandopadhyay, shall surely impress this year's NABC attendees.
